First Southwest Community Fund announces the resignation of Azarel Madrigal as Executive Director, effective September 14, 2023. She has accepted a position as Regional Director with Senator John Hickenlooper.
“I am immensely grateful for the opportunities I have had during my time with FSWCF,” said Madrigal, “I have been truly honored to lead an organization that makes a real difference in the lives of entrepreneurs in rural Colorado.”
As Executive Director, Madrigal has been instrumental in growing and diversifying the organization’s portfolio, and implementing two new funding programs for rural women and immigrants in Colorado. Sherry Waner, Chief Development Officer, FSWCF and First Southwest Bank, will assume the role of Executive Director on an interim basis.
