Program Details
The Rural Micro-entrepreneur Assistance Program (RMAP) provides micro-loans, training and technical assistance grants to entrepreneurs and small business owners. This program is supported by United States Department of Agriculture. The program enables entrepreneurs to take out a loan, and receive a technical assistance grant at the same time.
Who is eligible?
For-profit businesses located in rural area (defined as a population of less than 50,0000), who have 10 or fewer full-time employees.
What can you use the program for?
RMAP allows entrepreneurs and small business owners to apply for a fixed-interest loan of up to $50,000 with a portion awarded in technical assistance grant dollars. For the technical assistance portion, this can be used for training or consultation on marketing, legal or financial topics and does not need to be repaid.
