Sherry Waner, FSWCF Chief Development Officer, was recently appointed Vice-Chair of Colorado’s Minority Business Office Advisory Council. The advisory council members are appointed by governor Jared Polis.
Colorado’s Minority Business Office (MBO) helps minority-, woman-, and veteran-owned businesses learn how to best market themselves as a certified business and secure government contracts. The office works closely with small business associations, government agencies, state and local chambers, and statewide economic development offices. The office is overseen by an 18-member Minority Business Office Advisory Council. The council bring minority business perspectives to the attention of the State, identify problems minority business owners face, and recommend regulatory changes needed to encourage success of minority businesses in Colorado. Sherry is focused on expanding outreach and impact in rural communities through access to credit and capital for underserved geographic areas and populations.
