Technical Support Assistant

FSWCF is a 501c3 nonprofit that supports the dedicated entrepreneurial spirit of rural Colorado, by investing in the people, culture, and ideas that fuel innovation and financial knowledge in our community, with an emphasis on areas of greatest need.

FSWCF was founded in 2015 by First Southwest Bank (FSWB), one of Colorado’s two Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) banks, to be a gap-funder that provides access to capital for those who would not otherwise be able to secure it.

As FSWCF has grown, we have seen the need for more equitable and inclusive access to capital for our rural entrepreneurs and business owners. We strive to provide a range of innovative financial services, including loan and grant programs to enable them to succeed and improve quality of life for our communities. Currently, FSWCF serves all of rural Colorado with a focus on Southern and Southwestern Counties.

Position:

The Technical Support Assistant (TSA) role will concentrate their activities primarily in supporting our prospective entrepreneurs. The TSA will work with current and prospective clients to respond to inquiries and facilitate transactions. They will provide administrative and client support to entrepreneurs, assisting them with the completion of their loan applications. The TSA will support FSWCF staff in their efforts to gather, complete and file the necessary loan documentation and all relevant supporting documents.

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) remote position with a STRONG preference for candidates located in rural Colorado. The Technical Support Assistant will work closely with and report to FSWCF’s Lending Specialist and Entrepreneur Success Coordinator. Some travel is required.

This position is a 12 month grant funded position. Position may continue beyond the 12 month period contingent on grant funding.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Technical Assistance: Provide 1-1 assistance to entrepreneurs. This will include support filling out loan applications and related supporting documents, business plan development, budget development, and financial projections.
  • Customer Interaction
    • Research and respond to customer questions and issues regarding loan accounts and documentation. Obtain or gather all relevant information from the borrower to progress with research.
    • Establish contact and follow up with prospective entrepreneurs.
  • Program Support
    • Provide assistance to FSWCF’s Entrepreneur Success Coordinator coordinating workshops, events and other opportunities.
    • Supports the FSWCF program and operations team in development and implementing innovative techniques to outreach FSWCF programs and services to new participants.
  • Team Support
    • Support Lending Specialist with administrative tasks as assigned. These include electronic filing and support with DocuSign, May support the operations team with marketing, recruitment, navigation, and administrative tasks.
    • Participate in educational/training opportunities as needed. Some travel may be required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • A flexible, creative, entrepreneurial spirit and a demonstrated passion for the mission, vision and values of First Southwest Community Fund.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong financial skills, able to review develop budgets and financials.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Professional or personal experience working with historically marginalized communities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to take ownership and drive activities to completion.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; College degree preferred (business, finance, or accounting).
  • A minimum of one year of professional work experience.
  • Preferred: Bilingual/Proficient in Spanish

Salary & Benefits

This position will offer a salary of $17.00 to $21.00 hourly depending on experience. FSWCF offers employees a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare stipend, retirement, and phone stipend.
