Celebrating Women's History Month

3/26/25

This March, First Southwest Community Fund (FSWCF) is proud to join the nation in celebrating Women's History Month. This year's theme, "Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations," is one that resonates with our mission to provide support to the communities we serve through increased access to educational and financial opportunities to improve financial outcomes for generations to come.

At FSWCF, we recognize the invaluable contributions of women in shaping our organization, our communities, and our nation. For instance, we are fortunate to have an all-female team supporting our clients across rural Colorado, which is certainly not the industry norm! Additionally, 52% of the businesses we provided funding for in 2024 were women-led (higher than the national average of 42% women-led businesses). In addition to funding, we are proud to support the resilience, achievements, and ongoing struggles of women in business.

In addition to recognizing the strength of these entrepreneurs, we also want to recognize the often-unseen dual roles of the women supporting our communities. They are often primary childcare providers, full-time employees running their businesses after their families go to bed, and volunteers within their communities. It is the recognition of these dual roles that we strive to provide our educational programming remotely and, in the evening, to increase the access to these entrepreneurs. We also offer most of our program’s multiple times throughout the year to increase access to our busy entrepreneurs as well.

While we are immensely proud of our ability to support female entrepreneurs, we recognize there is still work to be done. In 2025 we would like to continue to improve the ways in which we support the women in our entrepreneurial communities. We encourage you to provide feedback on how we can better support you through completing the following survey which also comes with a chance to win a $100 gift card, or send your feedback to info@fswcf.org
